Advancing Prostate Cancer Detection

Prostate Cancer is one of the most common types of cancer among men. Around 1 in 7 men in Ireland will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and about 3,665 men are diagnosed every year. This work aims to develop Machine Learning Models to identify the Pathological Grade of Prostate Cancer and key clinical biomarkers. Logistic Regression was identified to be the best performing model and the features selected with the model are chosen to be key biomarkers indicating the Pathological Grade of the tumour. The results of this study are aimed to support patients diagnosed with prostate cancer and who need to know the pathological grade without invasive surgery.

Family or Not?

10-Class Family and non Family Photo Classification

Every day, more and more people use SNS to share photos with friends. Photos taken with friends and family are commonly sent to each other to share memories. Hence, there is a demand to categorize photos for content-based retrieval based on the persons present in it.

In this project, I prepared a new dataset due to a lack of pre-existing data. Using this data, which is collected from real world, the model has been trained and now can be used to classify any image into one of the appropriate 10 classes. The model may be further used in a system that can automatically sort images based on category.
